I actually remember reading about this book from you Emma for the first time and had forgotten about it! I was 22 at the time and recently moved to London hoping to become a writer so it got my attention. Thank you for resharing it, time to pick it up finally:)
Thanks so much for sharing this Emma. I read it in my early 20s, a year or so after it came out I think, and remember feeling so emotional the whole time, partly because of how touching the writing was and partly because of knowing there would be no more of it for the worst reason imaginable. I had borrowed my then flatmate's copy, but perhaps the 10 year anniversary is a good excuse to get my own for a re-read. 💛
My god, i remember when it came out. I remember us talking about it together! It’s the most wonderful book, I own it still and think of it often. Thank you for this x
Wow what sparkiness in her voice and presence on stage. Just reserved her book from the library on your recommendation. Lots to reflect on about legacy and the power of words.
Thank you for this , Emma. I am so moved by Marina's performance of her poem. I have ordered her book and look forward to reading it. A reminder, again, of the brevity and preciousness of life.
P.S. Your note about the foreword reminds me Yellowface is still in my TBR pile!!
I bought this book when it came out and remember feeling so similar to the way you have described here. My copy is battered and worn now after accompanying me on many house moves in the past ten years - today I’m going to take it off the shelf and see how it resonates with the 35 year old version of me.
I have ordered this book and look forward to reading it.

Absolutely - so nice reading the comments and seeing this be shared.
I will get to it! :)
Another book to add to my TBR pile!
This has been sat on my shelf for so long. Just grabbed it for this eve. Thanks for reminding me of it. Time to read x

Thanks for reading, Wendy! ❤️
Wow. If this isn’t a kick up the butt to Do The Thing, I don’t know what is. Beautiful ❤️
