One of my fav books... I bought it the first time round and I'm glad I did... Reading them did something positive within me... I resonated with so much of what you had written. They have prime position on my book shelf above my desk, so I can easily pick them up for a quick random read when I need to. X

Thank you. Looks amazing and massively resonates with me. I crave an annual hibernation. I have GP friend currently signed off work with burnout but she is also a single mum and needs to earn money. I’ve been wondering about giving her this but presumably the year of doing nothing relies on having some source of income? I’m worried that if I give her this it will just stress her out more because she needs to earn.

Thank you! It's definitely not a prescriptive 'this is how to take a year off' book -- that was just what happened to me -- but instead includes smaller ways to incorporate slower gentler times into every day life. the feedback has been it is a relaxing book, I hope so anyway <3

Ach, I'm on an enforced stop and I've been fighting it, not intentionally. But the past couple of weeks I really have slowed down but it doesn't last long - my definition of doing nothing (which is what I've been told I need to do to get my nervous system calmed and re-learning how to live without pain) is, apparently, not doing nothing. Though I'm much better about boundaries, because I have to be. Buying now.

I was lucky to get the book first time around. Love it so much and will re-read before Xmas to remind me that at this time of year, saying no and having boundaries is more important than ever...

I’m so excited to get my copy.

There was something you said in this piece, Emma, that really resonated. When you said it was the best thing that could have happened. That’s how I felt when I came out the other side of my burnout.

it's a funny thing to realize after two years of 'challenges'! Glad it resonated, and I hope you enjoy the book(s)! xoxo
